Native Habitat Gardens & GARDEN CARE

Garden maintenance, redesign and native habitat planting across the Illawarra, creating gardens that support local wildlife.

Goodenia Gardens provides garden maintenance, redesign and native habitat planting across the Illawarra.

Led by conservation land manager Sam, the focus is on creating healthy, beautiful gardens that support local wildlife.

Garden Care That Works With Nature

A well cared for garden should not only look good, it should support the landscape around it.

Goodenia Gardens offers practical, reliable garden care while also helping clients introduce native plants and habitat features over time.

Many clients begin with regular maintenance and gradually transform their gardens to include more native species that support birds, bees and other wildlife.

Our
Services

  • Reliable garden care for homes across the Illawarra.

Maintenance visits can include pruning, lawn care, planting, green waste removal, seasonal tidy ups and general garden support. Gardens can be maintained as traditional landscapes or gradually transitioned toward native plantings.

  • Refreshing gardens that need new life.

This may include removing struggling plants, improving layout, introducing native species or replanting garden beds to create a more resilient and attractive landscape.

  • Creating gardens that support local wildlife.

Native habitat gardens are designed to provide food and shelter for birds, frogs, bees and pollinators while remaining practical and beautiful for everyday living.

Plant selections focus on species suited to local conditions and surrounding bushland.

  • Support for bush blocks, private bushland and natural areas.

Work can include weed removal, regeneration support, revegetation and habitat restoration to help restore the health of native ecosystems.

  • For properties with creeks, waterways or erosion issues.

Riparian planting and revegetation can stabilise soil, improve water health and create habitat corridors for wildlife.

Goodenia Gardens can also design and create artificial creeks, ponds and small waterways for properties that would benefit from added natural features.

  • Small garden projects focused on planting and improving garden spaces. This can include new garden beds, mulching, planting schemes and introducing plants suited to local conditions.

Local Knowledge

Goodenia Gardens works across the Illawarra and understands the soils, landscapes and plant communities that shape the region.

Plant selections focus on species that naturally occur in the Illawarra, helping gardens establish more easily while supporting birds, pollinators and other local wildlife.

Different parts of the region have very different conditions. The Coastal Frontline, Coastal Plain and Escarpment and Foothills each have their own soils, exposure and vegetation communities, which influence what plants will thrive.
